Amarteifio & Co. was established in 1980 by Amarkai Amarteifio, Esq., who until that date was Assistant Director of Legal Services, Ministry of Defence, Accra. 

The firm has seven (7) Associates and provides quality service to clients including multi-national corporations. The firm also acts as confidential legal advisers to the Embassies of Switzerland, Denmark, and the Republic of Korea.

The head of the firm, Amarkai Amarteifio, is also the Consul General of Sweden in Ghana and Vice President of the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC).  He also served as Minister of State in the Republic of Ghana.

A member of the International Bar Association. Mr. Amarteifio is a founding member of the Ghana Arbitration Centre and serves on its Governing Council.

It enjoys association with leading firms of Baker and McKenzie of Washington, U.S.A. Messrs  Kibedi, Soliciors of London; and William Kosar, Hamilton -  Ontario, Canada and Naschitz, Brandes of Tel Aviv, Israel.
